New firmware update coming soon?

As you may already know, fat PS3 users are facing problems both connecting to the PSN and launching games. Some hours ago Sony confirmed this, adding "We're aware that many of you are having problems connecting to PSN, and yes, we're looking into it. Stay tuned for updates."

Affected users report the 80001050F PSN error and that almost every game will quit after reporting an error while syncing the trohpies - that is to say, even if you shut down your access point, the error will keep popping up. Apparently this bug causes the date to be reset to 1999.

If this bug remains tomorrow, Sony probably will release a new firmware update very soon. And who knows, maybe this hypothetical update to fix the trophy-related bug could contain the so rumored OtherOS block.

UPDATE: Sony hasn't released the new firmware yet and has fixed the trophies bug.
